Day 3 - Getting By

Well, I can honestly say this is way harder than I thought it would be. I'm a huge snacker, and that's probably a big part of it. Or I WAS a huge snacker!! Anyway, the pain is getting more manageable, and I really hope by tomorrow it's gone. This afternoon at work, the dry mouth was pretty intense. I drank way more water today than I have in a long time on a given day as a result, and I do consider myself on top of drinking water.

My friends want to go out for my birthday next Friday, and I'm already trying to think how I can work that out. It will be an extended evening event, and since I've just started, I really don't want to keep them out for long periods of time like that. Plus, I'll be going to San Francisco in less than two weeks, so there will probably be some of the same when I go out. I know I don't HAVE to drink to have a good time, but it is my birthday and vacation, and I want to. :) I will come up with some kind of personal compromise, I suppose.

I just have to keep reminding myself why I am doing this and just focus on the result. Plus, I have a lot of money invested in this process, and there is no way that I'll even seriously allow myself to think of quitting. I just want instant gratification like everyone, and I can't have it. I should also remind myself that many, many people have far more time to invest in the Invisalign process than six months (nine months considering the retainer time, but still...). I don't want to sound like a baby, so chin up and keep going!

When wearing Invisalign you have to know about the new product on the market: BrytonPick - FLOSS In Seconds. It is a string-free, reusable and portable flossier that will save you allot of time on a daily flossing routine. Flossing after every single snack is now discreet, easy and very fast....

It does get a lot easier, trust me! Day 3/4 was when it started to feel like the aligner was more like a retainer than anything else, but that'll change when you switch to your next aligners and will be back to how it was today.

I have had alcohol with the aligners in, my Ortho said it was fine as long as I cleaned my teeth after.
